# SAP MM three-way matching and payment review

Synthetic business case

Connect purchase orders, receipt evidence, payment proposals and supplier risk. Inspect current differences, then follow recommendations, approval and review tasks.

## Business question

When receipts, orders and payment proposals disagree, what should be checked before a decision?

## Who it is for

Procurement operations, accounts payable, supplier management and internal control

## Business objects

- Purchase orders and lines
- Receipt and payment evidence
- Supplier risk
- Review recommendations and tasks

## Try the workflow

1. Open a purchase order — Open the procurement panel from the import guide. Select PO-000035 and inspect the order, supplier, receipt and payment evidence.
2. Calculate differences and inspect evidence — Run the matching analysis. Compare order quantity, receipt shortages, amount differences and supplier risk, then open the cited procurement rules.
3. Change an input and regenerate — Edit the order quantity or amount as instructed and rerun the analysis. Changed evidence requires a new recommendation; refresh and reselect the order after each action.
4. Follow review actions and records — Recommendation generation leaves payment status unchanged. An authorized user can approve, dispatch and close the review, then inspect review status and audit records. No real bank payment is executed.

## Adapt to your business

- Align business IDs and quantity/amount definitions across orders, receipts and payment proposals.
- Confirm supplier-risk sources, discrepancy thresholds and review owners.
- Retain existing approval and data permissions. SAP names identify synthetic business scenarios, not a live customer SAP connection.
